Today, we remember a woman who meant so much to so many of us, especially to her family. I had the privilege of caring for her when she was sick, and during that time I came to know her gentle spirit and her honest heart.
There were moments when we exercised and I praised her, and she would look at me and say, “Mami, I am tired. I will not do it. My hand is paining.” Whenever I tried to encourage her and said, “Grandma, you will be fine,” she would look at me and softly ask, “Are you sure?”—a simple question that showed her vulnerability, her trust, and her humanity.
Even in her weakness, she remained real, expressive, and full of warmth. She was deeply loved and deeply cared for. She raised a family that reflects her strength, kindness, and values. Taking care of her was not just a duty; it was an honor I will always cherish.
She may be gone from our sight, but she will never be gone from our hearts. May her soul rest in perfect peace, and may her family find comfort in the beautiful memories she leaves behind.
